Hello everyone! Today I’m reviewing Valentia‘s True Glow Eye Cream.
According to the Amazon product page (which is where I got it from), the treatment is meant to reduce wrinkles, moisturize, nourish, brighten dark circles and reduce puffiness. Some of the ingredients they use are vitamin C, organic rosehip oil, and arnica, among others.
If you follow me on Facebook, you may remember that I mentioned back in January that I was going to start using the True Glow eye cream (among other Valentia products) and test it out. Well, it has been a month and a half ever since, and I’m ready to bring you the results. Before I start, let me state that I use this cream together with my usual morning/evening routine, but none of the other products I use are for the eyes. In fact, I try not to get them very close to the eye area, since the skin is so delicate there. Since this review will reflect the changes I’ve had in the eye area, I attribute them to this True Glow eye cream.
Like the image indicates, use the cream twice a day, in the morning and the evening. I applied this cream after cleaning my face and applying a light serum. I used one blob (as in, the amount that comes out from the tube when you press) of cream for my two eyes, by dividing that blob among my two ring fingers, and softly patting the area around the eyes with those two fingers. The blob is pictured in the photo further below. It’s important to then, let the skin rest about 30 seconds before applying anything else. In my case, I would then apply my usual moisturizer to the rest of my face.
– It does moisturize the skin very nicely. Even after a few hours of having applied the product, the skin around the eyes feels softer than usual.
– Skin-tightening and anti-wrinkles. You know the little crow feet? Yea, I haven’t seen those in a few weeks.
And I should probably mention that my poor eyes have suffered a lot this semester. All my classes require a lot of screen time, and some even a lot of intense screen work. For one project for one class alone, I spent almost 40 hours in the computer. Sometimes up to 13 hours in a row. I would finish working at midnight, and get ready to sleep. Even though I was exhausted, I didn’t skip the True Glow eye cream, because the whole area felt very tense, but after applying the cream, it would relax and feel so nice and soft. Honestly, no kidding, I’d go to bed exhausted, but so happy that at least that tension was gone (I wish I could have done that for some other parts of my body, and brain!).
But this also leads me to the next part.
– It’s not really a con as in, it caused something, but more as in I hoped it could help me with an issue. Because of my extended time on the computer, I’ve developed some nasty, dark circles. Sadly, I haven’t seen much of a difference in those. (Do take in count though, that this are being produced by an unhealthy cause (computer time, and possibly not too healthy food), and I probably should look into that other root problem before expecting something would change it).
In General: the True Glow
I’ve enjoyed this treatment a lot. It’s strange how tension can really affect the eye area, I had never paid too much attention to it, but now I can feel the difference. It happened to be a coincidence that I got the True Glow eye cream during such a busy time for my eyes, but it’s also been a wonderful tool to make me feel better and help me disconnect and relax. Besides, I’m always totally up to using products that will help my skin in the long term as well, by avoiding dryness and wrinkles.
And as a big plus, all of Valentia’s products are vegan and cruelty-free!
