Spa Night: Detox and Exfoliation

PixelI promised over at the Facebook page that a “spa night” entry was coming, and here it is. Today I will talk about two products, for detox and exfoliation, from Valentia, and in a few days, I’ll talk about a hydration product that goes along with these perfectly!

But back to our spa night. After removing our make-up, optional shower (great for relaxing!), washing your face and drinking some refreshing tea, it’s time for detox and exfoliation: remove all the excess on our face. To do this, we can go with either a detoxifying mask or a exfoliating scrub. Both have the goal of cleaning the face and pores, and leaving a soft skin afterwards. Cleaning your skin is so important, you should do it about once a week in such depth. So, let’s learn about these products I have to share!

Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask

This great mask has a fresh and sweet smell, but it’s greatest feature is the natural ingredients it has and how they treat your skin. One of the main products is Kaolin clay, which is known for providing deep cleansing to the skin, and leaving it firm. Other ingredients are spirulina, CoQ10, Hibiscus and Cranberry Fibers, and other plant stem cells. Together, these ingredients are meant to decrease toxins, reduce certain spots and leave a more even skin, tighten pores and tighten skin, avoiding wrinkles, and provide skin with vitamins to hydrate it. It’s a great combo of ingredients all in one. The texture of this mask is more creamy, and not hard at all to apply.

To use this clay mask, use your fingers to apply an even and thin coat of clay to your face, avoiding getting too close to the eyes area. It’s normal to feel a tingle at the beginning, since the product is reaching certain levels of your skin. If the sensations starts to burn, though, better remove the mask and verify you don’t have any allergies towards it. Leave the mask on for around 15-20 minutes. To remove, use a warm, damp cloth and brush it carefully against your face in a circular motion.

Eternal Youth Exfoliating Scrub

This scrub is a mix of some of the best skin care ingredients, with green/white tea, aloe vera, jojoba beads, olive, avocado and kukui butter among them. The results is a scrub that enriches your skin with moisture, firmness, nourishments, and other vitamins and antioxidants that care about the general well-being of your face skin. Its smell is a bit strong, but very refreshing, and you can almost feeling entering through your pores and cleaning them. The texture of these scrub is kind of gooey, but it is very easy to apply to your face, and it does not get stuck on your fingers.

Scrubs are even more simple to use than masks. Take some scrub on your fingers and carefully apply it with a circular motion to your face. After applying over all the face, continue the circular motion with your fingers to stimulate the beads against the skin. Apply warm water and continue the circular motion to remove the scrub, and with it, the dead skin and impurities.

My Experience with Detox and Exfoliation

Pros
– My skin feels amazing for days after using this treatment.
– Even though I had a tingling on my face that worried me at the beginning, it didn’t have any impact on the skin. That’s when I researched and learned that it can happen.
– It is not only beneficial for your skin, but also very relaxing! Definitely spa-night worth it.
– Both products have a great collection of natural ingredients whose skin benefits can be confirmed through these treatments.

Cons
– Both scents are a bit strong, it takes a few minutes to get used to them.
– I recommend not to do detox and exfoliation one after the other. That’s what I did the first time I used them and the tingling on the mask (that I applied after the scrub) was even more intense, even painful. But if used separate, it should not be painful.
